Do these FIRST—before making any calls
Activate four-way flashers immediately—even before you fully stop.
Steer to the right shoulder, exit ramp, or rest area. Get completely off the road if possible.
Set parking brake, put on high-vis vest, exit from passenger side if safe.
Set at 10 ft, 100 ft, and 200 ft behind your truck. Required by DOT.
Triangle Placement is Law
FMCSR 392.22 requires reflective triangles within 10 minutes of stopping. Placement: 10 feet, 100 feet, and 200 feet behind your vehicle. On curves or hills, place additional triangles where they'll be seen.
